Notes about Vietnam
Very Important note: Available on the Internet is an on-line visa which is a scam. This visa which can cost upwards of $100usd is only available for entry into Ho Chi Min City. The scam comes in that you don’t need to get a visa for Vietnam when traveling to ONLY Ho Chi Min, so the letter is Superfluous - this is why it is a scam. If you will look closely you will see the sites available for this service are not.gov sites; this is a dead giveaway. On a broader note, in the US it has become the practice of TSA to enforce visa requirements at US airports. This has been going on for several years (since 2014), and in their systems (called TIMATIC, it may not be clear to the TSA agent that you may get this visa upon arrival ONLY at HCMC, and they may restrict travel from the US due to their interpreting that a visa is required for entry into all Vietnam airports. Therefor RJR recommends getting the visa prior to travel.
